Nicole Morgan, the new second grade teacher at Pineview Elementary school, has it all together in the classroom; it’s her personal life that she can’t find peace with. Unable to let go of the guilt that she is harboring from her past, she punishes herself by running from all potential relationships.
Her patience is put to the test when Dailan O’Maley the obnoxious but very sexy uncle of one of her students enters her life. She slowly cracks away at Dailan’s crude, crass exterior when they are forced to work together for the sake of his nephew. The two of them learn a lesson in love that neither had planned as they discover that the guilt they are hiding deep inside isn’t the only thing they have in common. Unbeknownst to her, he holds more than just the key to her heart.

MY REVIEW

Let me start by saying that the lesson learned by the protagonist in this book is really unplanned. That's one of the reasons why I am so in loved with this book. I am quite sure that my review will never ever justify how much I love An Unplanned Lesson. It actually took me a week to finish this review since I just can't find the right words for this amazing story. I was left speechless.

Nicole Morgan have a pretty messed up life -- having short-term jobs, or being jobless at all; failure in love life because she's afraid of marriage and it's responsibilities; and she's not in good terms with her parents who talks about nothing but about the life of her sister. All she have is her younger brother, her "pooh", Justin, who works as a Marine. The story of her life is very realistic that you can actually put yourself into her shoes.

Until she found a job as a grade school teacher and met the little devil Ryan O'Maley. She can't seem to find out how to control him so she called over his guardian. It turned out that Ryan's uncle, Dailan o'Maley, is just as devilish as the kid. He's arrogant, sarcastic, and... hot. Yes. Smokin' hot. She wasn't prepared for a guy like him. She thought she would hate him to death but she's wrong about that. She wanted him as much as he wanted her.

As the story went on, I found out that Ryan is such a very sweet little guy. He's also loving whatever is going on with his teacher and his uncle. As for Nicole and Dailan, I kinda fell in love with their love-hate relationship for each other, or whatever label they have for it. I just hated Nicole when I noticed she's about the repeat one of her biggest mistakes in the past. I mean, seriously, who wouldn't fall for a guy like Dailan?! Who would even doubt falling in love with him?!

But somewhere along the story, I shed tears. Heavily. Something happened that broke my heart and shattered it into pieces. Tears can't stop falling down my cheeks. I just told myself that sometimes, all I need is a really good cry. And this book, this book provided it for me. I loved the ending, though. There is this secret from Nicole's past that was revealed in the end I just love how Beth concealed it from the beginning. I thought that secret will not be exposed until the second book but I was shocked.

I totally recommend this to whoever book lover I know. This is such an amazing book and I wanted to read the next book so bad!

MY RATING

IT WAS AMAZING!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Beth Rinyu

Ever since I can remember, I have always enjoyed Creative Writing. There was always something about being able to travel to a different place or become a different person with just the stroke of a pen - or in today's world a touch of the keyboard. I am the author of The Exception To The Rule, An Unplanned Lesson and Drowning In Love. I am currently working on An Unplanned Life the sequel to An Unplanned Lesson....stay tuned!

My life is not as interesting as my books or the characters in them, but then again whose life is? I was born and have lived in New Jersey my whole life. I'm a mom of twin teenage boys, a teenage stepson, a crazy Border Collie and a cat with an identity crisis! I guess you can say writing is my form of Calgon! I am married to a wonderful guy - but we'll keep that between us, I don't want him getting a big head!

Thanks for taking the time to learn about my books and me! If you decide to read them (and I hope you do!) please be sure to go on and review it for me - yes, even if you don't like it!
