Series: Losing It #1
Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance
Published October 15th 2012 by William Morrow Paperbacks
Sick of being the only virgin among her friends, Bliss Edwards decides the best way to deal with the problem is to lose it as quickly and simply as possible - a one-night stand. But her plan turns out to be anything but simple when she freaks out and leaves a gorgeous guy alone and naked in her bed with an excuse that no one with half-a-brain would ever believe. And as if that weren't embarrassing enough, when she arrives for her first class of her last college semester, she recognizes her new theatre professor. She'd left him naked in her bed about 8 hours earlier.
MY REVIEW
I read and heard many positive reviews and feedbacks about Cora Carmack and her books from my blogger friends. This made me curious about her and her works, so I provided myself an e-copy of Losing It and read it as soon as I can.
I kinda hated Bliss at first. She's freaking out about the fact that she's still a virgin. I don't get it. Why would you rush yourself out of something essential to every woman? It's not a crime to be a virgin. In fact, many girls would do anything to have their virginity back, only there's nothing they can do about it. But I love how talented she is, how she gets attracted to boys reading a Shakespeare novel in a club. Especially if that guy looks like Garrick. I also love clever Bliss is. These lines made me love her:
Like a complete psycho, I leaned my face into the pillow and sniffed like girls in books and movies always do to see if I could still catch his scent. I couldn't. And I felt super creepy.
Well, Garrick.. *swoon* I fell inlove with him the moment I learned he's British. I love British guys, especially for their accent. It makes me melt down. The way they say 'love'.... And, he reads. I usually fall inlove with the bad guys in a book, but there is no bad guy in this book. Just a sweet, hot guy who loves to read Shakespeare novel inside a club instead of drinking booze and dancing with random girls on the dance floor.
"Are you waiting for an invitation?" I asked, eyeing him standing carefully outside my door. "Is this the part where you tell me you’re a vampire?" He chuckled. "No, I promise the paleness is only because I’m British."
Well, this is a fun-read. I enjoyed reading about the crazy, secret love affair between Bliss and Garrick. Some may say it's forbidden, but for me it's really not. It's just that Garrick is her teacher, it will totally look bad for the others to see a student dating her teacher. And I love how they managed to adjust with their situation.
