Book Promo: NO ONE'S ANGEL by Kelly Walker sale for only .99!

If you are looking for an intense, passionate love so wrong it is right, a story about losing your way but clawing desperately at any chance to find your way back, about hanging on to your last shred of sanity and trusting someone enough to let go of your fears, look no further. No One's Angel's angel is a New Adult (NA) Contemporary Romance about a girl learning to fight back and a boy learning to let go.

Tess used to spend more hours than she'd care to admit playing her favorite computer game, using the nickname Angel. She could pretend her life was different, and she could pretend Arion was just a friend. But a girl needs more to keep her warm at night than pixels, and she traded her virtual heaven for a real-life hell. Now she's on the run from a past she won't talk about, and the only place she has to go is the doorstep of the friend she's never actually met.

When Angel disappeared from their nightly games, it nearly destroyed Arion. He threw himself into work and women, but he can't help knowing the one-night stands will never compare to the angel who haunts his dreams. At first, when she shows up soaking wet and scared-shitless on his doorstep, he thinks his prayers have been answered.

But the more Arion tries to keep Angel close, the more her fear drives her away. If they are ever going to have a chance for a future, they'll first have to deal with the past that hasn't forgotten her any more than she's forgotten it--and Arion will have to learn how to let her go.

(CONTENT WARNING: Due to adult sexual situations and language, this novel may not be appropriate for readers under 18.)

EXCERPT
Arion reaches for my hand but catches only air. I freeze. And then Ishiver. Without the warmth of the blankets, I remember I'm not
wearing anything but his shirt, and given the look he's giving me now, I'm not the only one who's noticed. That expression I can
read just fine.

"You aren't going anywhere, Angel."

I suck in a sharp breath, hearing his words in someone else's voice.
But I did. I'm here. I left.
My eyes dart around the room like a moth fluttering against a light.  My pile of clothes, which should have been by the door, is missing.
"Did you take my clothes?" The tightening in my chest makes my words breathless. I try to tell myself not to panic, but that's
like telling a dog not to wag its tail. Acknowledging it only makes it worse. I gulp for more air as my head starts to spin.
"Would only seem fair. After all, you took mine." His tone is tense, but beneath it I can hear his familiar teasing. I try to tell myself I don't have to be afraid. This is Arion. The one person I trust. I know him.
But I don't, and to tell myself otherwise is a lie.
If he wants his freaking shirt he can have it. I've got to get out of here. My fingers begin undoing the buttons without me really
thinking about it, and then I'm shrugging my shoulders free.
His eyes go from warm pools of interest to sexy oceans of desire in the time it takes me to remember I don't even have a bra on.
I manage to catch the shirt just before it falls away from my hips, and I quickly wrap it around me, covering myself. I tilt my chin
toward him defiantly, daring him to say or do anything even as I want to beg him to let me go. At the same time I want to beg him to pull me close. My emotion is a giant see-saw, and I'm tottering on the edge with him in the middle. If he takes one step toward me, it will tip the balance.

MY REVIEW

"You never forget your first love."

This is so true. No matter how much you hate that person for being the first one to break your heart, he/she will always be the one who triggered something in your heart that enables you to feel the greatest of all feelings.

Once, I was asked, "If you got stranded in an island and there is only one book you can have, what would it be?" Of course, I said I can't answer that since I love so many books. But now, I guess Eleanor and Park would be my answer. I love everything about this book. There is no single word I hated. The alternating POVs, the characters, the storyline, everything. Eleanor is a fat simple girl who just moved in to town while Park is an Asian student who used to hate Eleanor the time she sat beside him at the school bus. But later on, he saw something in Eleanor's personality that made him soft, and eventually they fall for each other without even knowing it.

Another thing that made me love this book so much is that I can fully relate to the story of my first love! Except that I was in Park's position and he's in Eleanor's. I'm Asian, and he is also, but have big round eyes. We met at school during 4th grade, and sooner became close. He loves music. In fact, he has a wonderful voice! And like Eleanor, he had a broken family. I used to help him by giving him pieces of advice, eating our hearts out, and hanging out a lot. But after 5th grade, his father decided to move to Canada with their step mother. He wrote me a short letter, telling me to stop crying and that we'll see each other again. That's the last time I heard about him. We no longer have communication, but we're friends on Facebook. And I'm happily committed and inlove to someone special right now. But I will never forget him.

I don't actually know how I can ever justify the awesomeness of this book. I won't site any quotes from the book because there are so many lines that struck me! I ALMOST marked the whole book! Look!

The actual state of my copy of Eleanor and Park.
This is a simple, classy and nostalgic novel that will bring you back to those days where it all began. When you first felt something weird in your chest, the fast heartbeat, when you first felt the butterflies swarming around the insides of your stomach, when you first felt the heat on your cheeks, when you first felt conscious about how you look... and so many other first times when it comes to falling in love. Rainbow Rowell did a great job when it come to that part. You're gonna feel them all again. Flashbacks everywhere. I swear!

MY REVIEW

Once again, I found a book with a stunning cover! Yeah, I'm a sucker for blue.

Waterfell is about a girl who was supposed to take over the thrown her late father left, but instead, was taken over of the one who killed her father. At first, I thought this is a mermaid story. I once dressed up as a mermaid, and pretended I am one everytime I go to the beach. I love the sea. I love taking walks along the shore, I love the breeze, I love the water, I love collecting shells... I love everything about the ocean. That love pushed me to requesting this from NetGalley, and I am so thankful to Harlequin Teen for granting my request.

And as a sign of gratitude, I'm giving you this mermaid picture of mine:

"I'm a mermaid. Duh?" This photo was taken when I was in kindergarten school.

Okay. Sorry about that. Heh.

So it turned out that the sea creatures featured in this book were not mermaids/mermen. I thought this would somehow be a retelling of The Little Mermaid when I read the plot. But it's not. They're aliens. Water aliens? Yes, like aliens from another planet. Well, the way they were described in the book is just amazing. I can imagine those creatures, perfect combinations of colors blending on their bodies. The author did a great job on that one, huh.

The thing I didn't like in the book is the main character herself - Nerissa. She's very annoying. Aside from being a coward when she ran away from her duty and responsibility, she's kinda selfish, self-centered and disdainful. I didn't get why she hates Cara to death. As I went on with the story, I can't find any reason to hate Cara. Yes, she gave Nerissa death stares, but I think that's because of Nerissa's own actions. It was never really made clear about their past, so I didn't understand why Nerissa hated her that much. Like, WTF is wrong with the two of you? Can someone please tell me why?!

Alright, enough for the annoying main character. Let me just focus on the things, or rather, scenes that I loved in this book. I told you earlier that I love the ocean. And there is a very romantic scene in this book. The one wherein a mass of jellyfish, glowing underneath the water surrounded Nerissa and Lo... Such a beautiful scenery! I once saw a number of jellyfish glowing under the water when I spent one night by the sea. It's amazing. Really.

And for my favorite character, it'd be Jenna. She's Nerissa's bestfriend. And every girl in the world need a friend like her. She's trustworthy and she never left Nerissa's side. She had been there for her from the start, and even after she learned the whole truth. She's a true friend and Nerissa is lucky she had Jenna all along.

Overall, I liked the book not because of the main character or the story. I liked it because of the cover, the ocean and Jenna. Nothing more. I didn't even swoon over the male characters. I think I expected too much in this book and it just frustrated me.

MY REVIEW

To briefly describe this book, I would say it's action-packed.

Dreams of the Cursed is yet another fascinating story by Allie Jean, the sequel to the Legacy of a Dreamer. Things were made clearer in this book, most especially about the history of the Fallen angels and the Contrites. Most of my questions left on the first book were answered here.

There were new characters introduced, but the most intriguing of them was Princess. Who is she? Why is she so important to Damon? Not to mention the part where Damon's quite soft-hearted and protective when it comes to her. This made me think there is still good inside Damon's heart.

There is also Lady, or whose real name is Trystan. I hated her the first time I met her. There's a lot of "Why?" that I wanna ask her. I even taught she's crazy, though I also pity her at first, knowing all those things she's been through while she's still in the dungeon. I kinda have a love-hate relationship with her.

The Fire Eater. I really don't have any idea who she is, and why is Damon so interested to her. Even Chantal doesn't know who she is! Why is she called the Fire Eater? Ha. If ever you find out who she is, you'll all be like "What?!" I guess all my questions will be answered on the third book and I can't wait for it.

This book tells us that there will always be hope. No matter how hard/bad the situation is, we should never ran out of hope. And this book proved that it times of hardship, it's one of the most important thing, next to trust, of course. This book also tells us that we should not... no, never, judge someone based on his/her past. We should always hear their side, listen to their explanation because everything happens for a reason.

Over all, I love the story. It's just sad that I still can't ship Mathias and Chantal because of the situation they're in. But it's good that they focus on winning first, for everyone's sake, putting theirs later on. This is another must-read from Allie Jean.

P.S. I actually had a new favorite character in this sequel... but... *cries*

I REALLY LIKE IT!
